As some of you know, My oldest daughter Becky has epilepsy.
During one particularly bad seizure, she broke her neck, adding paralysis to the long list of side effects from her uncontrolled seizures.
Gratefully, she lives a full life anyway, with work, roommates, and friends, thanks to great support from the ARC of Montgomery County and her family. But her seizures continue inspite of every treatment available.
Before her accident, she won a medal and a spot on the podium running track for the Special Olympics.
I want to honor her courage, perseverence, and endurance by presenting her with another medal.
As a member of Athletes vs Epilepsy, I plan to compete in the Columbia Maryland Triathlon this May in honor of all those like Becky who battle epilepsy. My primary goal is to raise awareness about the impact of this chronic condition.
But donations would be great!
Your donation will help fund innovation in accelerating new treatments and therapies in a time frame that matters. No donation is too big or too small, every dollar counts to the people living with epilepsy.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Athletes vs Epilepsy and help ensure that people with seizures have the opportunity to live their lives to their fullest potential!
