Here's to my best friend who lived life to the absolute fullest. I love you KatieJ.

I am raising funds to make a difference in the lives of people living with epilepsy. The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, save lives, and RAISE AWARENESS!!

We are walking to remember Katie Johnson, a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend to so many, who we lost to epilepsy in September 2017 at the age of 23. Katie had just graduated with her masters in accounting from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee and was living in Washington D.C. for a highly respected company, KPMG. Her college field hockey coach and friend said, “She could light up the lives of others. She had a calm, steady presence and was ready to help and support what was going on.”

More people need to understand the lifestyle changes that need to be made when diagnosed with epilepsy. My best friend, Katie, lived an incredible life, but it unfairly ended because of this brain disorder. Please help others like, my partner in crime, KJ, become more aware of knowing how to live with epilepsy. Donations towards this cause will help prevent other epileptics and their family and friends from facing the unimaginable.

If you're in D.C., please join us for the walk in honor of KJ on April 14th! (Information about the walk's location can be found on the resources page).
