I am raising funds to make a difference in the lives of people living with epilepsy. The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
On September 30, 2017 I lost my youngest daughter to SUDEP- Sudden Unexpected Death from Epilepsy. It was so sudden, so unexpected, so devastating. She was 23 , had graduated from Rhodes College with a BA,MS in Accounting and just started working with KPMG in Washington DC. Her dream job. We lost her to soon.
Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder affecting 1 in 26 people..It is poorly understood and has devastating effects on lives. Individuals with Epilepsy often live in constant fear of a seizure. They may be limited socially and professionally. It is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. Treatment options are limited and the options available do not work for every one
On April !4th I will join with Katie's friend's and Walk for Epilepsy. We will walk to honor her life and to raise funds to support other families affected by this disorder. We walk to support the mission of the Foundation "To stop seizures and SUDEP, find a cure and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy through efforts including education, advocacy, and research to accelerate ideas into therapy".
How can you help?
