Team Strollin' for Sammy kicking things off at the 2018 National Walk for Epilepsy
Dear Family & Friends,
It's that time again! We are taking this year's National Walk for Epilepsy by storm in Washington, DC on April 18th and are asking for your support!
Strollin' for Sammy is participating in the walk for the 13th year in a row and we are proud to say we have raised over $175,000 for this very important cause during that time. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000 and we think we can do it! Our team has been one of the top 3 fundraising teams 7 years running thanks to all of your support!
Our sweet Sammy has been living with this complicated disorder since he was almost 3, and we have tried pretty much everything out there to keep him safe and give him a shot at quality of life and the ability to learn despite the constant seizure activity in his brain. We've tried 19 different drugs and have had 2 surgeries to treat his epilepsy, but are always looking to what is on the horizon that might be better or might be critical for him in the future. Funding from this walk will go towards research and development to keep finding better drugs, procedures, devices, diets etc. that we are going to need in the future to help Sammy with his battle since there currently is no cure.
How can you help? We would love for you to join team Strollin' for Sammy and support us on walk day. Each year, our team grows and it is AWESOME! The walk around DC during Cherry Blossom season is really quite breathtaking and we promise it is a stroll and not a race. If you are unable to join us in person:
Make an online donation using the DONATE HERE button at the top of the fundraising page. We truly appreciate any support you can provide. It will benefit a great cause!
Make an offline donation by mailing a check to Dana Annis at 14014 Forest Ridge Drive, North Potomac, MD 20878. Please make checks payable to the National Walk for Epilepsy Foundation and we will make sure you get credit for tax purposes.
If you can't make a donation right now because you are still paying off your holiday cheer, help us reach our goal for sweet Sammy by sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter! Or, even better, send an e-mail to friends you think might be interested in contributing and include a link to our page!
We set an ambitious fundraising goal and your help means so much to us and to those living with epilepsy.
