Matthew passed away on May 31st, 2016 due to a complication in epilepsy called SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.)
Matt was an avid video game player, one of his favorite games being those of the "Legend of Zelda" series. Matthew's older brother Corey wrote a letter to Nintendo that was published by ZeldaInformer.com, which you can read here. The outpouring of support from Zelda Informer, Zelda fans, and Nintendo has been incredible, so in Matthew's memory, Corey hosted a Zelda Livestream on Twitch to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation called "Moblins for Matt."
The Zelda Livestream was a massive success. The streamers played six Zelda games in 66 hours: Legend of Zelda (NES), A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Majora's Mask, raising $5,335!
In honor of Matt’s 24th birthday, the streamers took on the Metroid Franchise on February 11th. The Moblins raised $2149.98 in 36 hours, playing through Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Other M, and Metroid: Zero Mission.
On June 3rd at 10 am CST, the Moblins hosted "Kirby's Streamland," where they played Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Super Star, Kirby 64, Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, raising $1700!
So now, in their biggest stream yet, they will host the Super Moblin Brothers stream on November 4th at 10 AM CST! More details are to come, so check back here as the date gets closer. There will be more raffle prizes than any other Moblins stream, so get stoked!
