Wanna be an EPILEPSY WARRIOR?

Don't worry... you don't have to have seizures to apply.

Epilepsy Warriors are everywhere. I'm an Epilepsy Warrior... but so is my mom, and my brothers, and my boyfriend, and any of my friends that have seen and helped and worried through my struggles with me.
Epilepsy takes a toll, on my body and my mind after every seizure, but also on the minds of my loved ones. Seizures are scary to watch (or so I hear) and even scarier to think about is the reality of the risk of SUDEP (SUDEP is the sudden, unexpected death of someone with epilepsy, who was otherwise healthy. In SUDEP cases, no other cause of death is found when an autopsy is done. Each year, about 1 in 1,000 people epilepsy die from SUDEP).
My struggles may be more visible, but the toll it takes on those around me should be acknowledged. This doesn't only affect me, or the millions of others Warriors living with epilepsy. This affects everyone experiencing seizures and all of their loved ones. They're all Warriors, too.

If you've struggled through a seizure with me, you ARE my Epilepsy Warrior.
If you've worried about how something my affect my epilepsy, you ARE my Epilepsy Warrior.
If you've learned a little about epilepsy from my stories or online, you ARE my Epilepsy Warrior.
If you've considered donating to the Epilepsy Foundation, you ARE my Epilepsy Warrior.
